No Fire Alarm in Major Fire

No one was injured in an apartment fire on Van Horne Avenue in Dryden.
The Fire Service was called to the blaze last Friday morning and on arrival emergency personnel found heavy smoke coming from the lower level of the Townhouse.
Everyone from the 8 Unit building was evacuated and one person was sent to hospital for smoke inhalation.
In one of the rooms, firefighters found a pot on the stove boiled dry with burnt food and crews ventilated the smoke out with a fan.
The Fire Service says the apartment didn’t have a working smoke alarm and charges are pending.
