Environment Minister Laurel Broten says schools, daycares and
municipalities across Ontario must now regularly test their drinking
water for high levels of lead.
The move comes after recommendations were made earlier this week
by a government-appointed panel of water experts.
Almost half of the 36 communities tested revealed elevated levels
of lead in drinking water.
Dryden, Atikokan and Fort Frances have all
tested negative for lead.
