The Manager of Transportation for the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says there are no current plans to equip school buses with cameras to catch drivers who pass school buses illegally.
A Winnipeg School Board has made such a move and some local residents have complained about drivers ignoring the law.
Judi Green says they have taken a proactive approach to address the issue.
Green says school bus operators and students have had success recording and reporting license plates.
Green adds the law in Ontario has changed where the driver doesn’t have to be identified but the owner can be charged if the Police verify a license plate.
