NOMA Asking Province To Keep Proposed Changes

It’s something the province doesn’t hear everyday…don’t make any changes.
The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association is begging the government to keep proposed regulation changes in the Endangered Species Act.
Vice-President Dave Canfield says the clause protects species at risk and allows the forest industry to grow.
Canfield is expecting an all out attack by Greenpeace and the Suzuki Foundation and he stresses communities must speak up before the February 25th deadline for feedback.
He calls the push back from environmental groups “complete non-sense”.
Canfield says the government can’t buckle under they attack.
He stresses the forest industry is starting to rebound and notes the province must use some common sense.
Canfield notes he’s recieved the backing of Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell.
