The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association is pleased with their meeting with Premier Kathleen Wynne.
The energy supply issue in the north was a major topic of discussion.
NOMA president Dave Canfield says they spoke of the ability to have the energy supply lines required to get power to the places that need it most.
Canfield says the government has assured him they would be working with different companies whether it be forestry or mining to make sure supply and demand is met.
He says this includes the Thunder Bay generating station and getting it converted.
Canfield adds NOMA received good feedback on issues concerning the ability to move dimensional lumber in the forestry sector.
