NOMA Keeps Close Eye On Anti-SLAPP Bill

The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association is watching closely the province’s anti-SLAPP legislation that recently passed second reading.

President Dave Canfield says they’re working with the government on tweaking the Bill 83.

The legislation aims to prevent frivolous lawsuits.

NOMA says it’s worried the new law will allow environmental groups to say whatever they want about the forest industry without repercussions. (File photo)
