NorWOSSA Responds To Saints Decision

The president of NorWOSSA has weighed in on the sanctions being dropped against the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints Junior Boys Basketball team.
In a news release, Mike Lalonde says the league membership voted 10-1 in favour of shelving all but one of the sanctions against the Kenora team.
Coach Mike Luby will remained suspended for the remainder of the school year.
The actions were levied against the team in December after concerns were raised about possible recruiting violations.
Luby says protests to the sanctions were heading towards a legal battle that would have been detrimental to the future of the league.
Work is now underway to review and revise by-laws around recruiting.
The response from NorWOSSA comes two days after the Directors of Education at the Kenora Catholic, Keewatin Patricia, and Rainy River District School Boards made a resolution to drop the sanctions against the Kenora team.
