NOMA President Pleased With OPP Billing Model

The President of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association is excited that the Ontario Provincial Police are creating a new billing model for municipalities.
Dave Canfield says the new model will allow communities to create custom policing plans, meaning the system will have a base funding model and can be customized with services to meet a communities specific needs.
Canfield says policing is a right, now a privilege and that some communities are paying much higher than others.
He adds that Northern municipalities have been fighting for a way to lower policing costs for over 12 years.
