The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association says it’s ready and willing to work with the new Conservative government at Queen’s Park.
NOMA President Wendy Landry says many of the PC platforms seem to be in sync with the goals of local municipalities.
Landry says their main focus is supporting the forestry and mining industries, something that Doug Ford campaigned on.
She says they’ve always enjoyed a good working relationship with Conservative MPP’s from northern Ontario, as well as Greg Rickford when he was a federal cabinet minister.
