NOMA Seeking Intervener Status In Talks

The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association wants a seat at the table when the National Energy Board holds hearings on the Energy East Pipeline.
President Dave Canfield says while they have already given their seal of approval for the project, they want to make sure TransCanada carry’s through with it’s promises.
Canfield stresses they are seeking intervener status in the upcoming hearings.
He notes northwestern Ontario is the largest area the pipeline will cross and wants to make sure all safety precautions are taken.
Canfield says the NOMA executive is meeting later this month and Energy East is one of the items on the agenda.
