NOMA Still Has Questions On Funding Allocations

A bit of a cash windfall for municipalities in the past week.
The province announced details of both the gas tax and a new infrastructure program.
President of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association Dave Canfield says Canfield says local municipalities should now be able to move ahead on vital projects.
However, Canfield stresses they are still discussing with the province how the funding will be able to be used.
Canfield says ideally municipalities would like to use the funding to service debt on major capital projects.
He calls it an on-going process and plans to raise questions about flexibility with the province.
