Nominations closed for October election

There won’t be any changes to the ballots for the October 10th provincial election in northwestern Ontario.

Yesterday was the final day to file nomination papers, but no last minute candidates decided to enter the fray.

In the Kenora-Rainy River Riding there will be four candidates.

NDP leader Howard Hampton will be challenged by Mike Wood of the Liberals, Penny Lucas from the Conservatives and Green Party Candidate Jo Jo Holiday.

In the Thunder Bay-Atikokan Riding there were also no changes, with incumbant Liberal candidate facing John Rafferty of the NDP, Rebecca Johnson of the Conservatives and Russ Aergard from the Green Party.
