NOMS bursary update

A committee set up by the Northern Ontario Medical School to raise funds for a bursary program has met and exceeded its target.

The committee was set up last winter and in ten months has
raised 6.7 million dollars.

Gerry Lougheed is co-chair of the bursary fundraising committee and says they received exceptional support from across the region.

Lougheed says the government has agreed to match their 6.7 million dollars, meaning they now have 13.4 million dollars set aside for the Northern Ontario Medical School bursary fund.
