The Thunder Bay North Stars capitalized on their chances and took advantage of a rare mistake by Taylor Unruh in the third to force a game 6 in the SIJHL Semi-Final.
Brad Thrower scored the winner on a routine hold in the final period when the puck landed to the Dryden goalkeeper but Thrower forced a giveaway and scored as the North Stars defeated Dryden GM 4-2.
Unruh kept a lifeless Ice Dogs team alive making several critical saves.
The Ice Dogs didn’t really hit their “A” game until the third when they absolutely dominated outshooting the Stars 24-8.
Nic Avery scored twice in the final frame.
Dryden GM outshot the Stars 45-24 with Riley Corbin once again saving the day for the Stars.
Game 6 is Tuesday in Thunder Bay.
