Northern Colleges Announce Programming Partnership

Ontario wants more people to take advantage of the northern college system.

Yesterday the province announced it’s investing money into a partnership between six northern colleges, Confederation College included, to improve student access to education by delivering shared programming.

Thunder Bay-Superior North MPP Michael Gravelle is calling it “a smart collaboration,” noting that in the past the colleges were competing for the same students. He adds the partnership is necessary to encourage growth, and market the north as a place for students to study and find work.

Confederation College president Jim Madder says they want to attract people from the GTA into their empty seats.
