Northern Development Minister Defends Budget

The Minister of Northern Development is standing by his Government’s Provincial budget.
The budget includes the re-announcement of the fourth year of funding for the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.
Michael Gravelle admits there wasn’t specific money set aside for the Region but notes there were projects that were mentioned, including the twinning of Highway 11-17.
Gravelle says critics are being needlessly cynical and the truth is the $10-million for the Heritage Fund shows how important the initiative is in the creation of jobs.
