Northern Lights Credit Union Reacts To Scare

Northern Lights Credit Union says it has procedures in place at all of its northwestern Ontario branches to deal with an emergency.
An unknown person left a bag and note demanding money at the Fort Frances financial institution Thursday.
The note also warned of threats against schools and businesses if the money wasn’t handed over.
Dryden’s Ernie Remillard is the President and CEO of Northern Lights and says it was a traumatic experience for staff, but stresses they executed emergency procedures “to a tee”.
Remillard says staff took all necessary steps to remain calm and ensure everyone stayed safe.
He notes “you never like to close operations but when it comes to the safety of staff and membership safety comes first.”
Provincial Police are investigating.
