Northern Mayors Finally Get Their MPAC Meeting

Lobby efforts for a one-on-one meeting to discuss property assessments in northern Ontario have finally paid off.
The Northern Mayors Coalition has secured a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Finance in Toronto on Monday morning.
They will be joined by other top level bureaucrats.
Dryden Mayor Craig Nuttall says several communities withholding payment to MPAC may have been the turning point in securing the meeting.
He stresses community leaders will tell the Deputy Minister in person the crippling effect the assessments have on communities
Nuttall believes they will make some headway as the Deputy Minister is in charge of the MPAC portfolio.
Nuttall will be joined by Treasurer Adrienne Bodnarchuk.
