Northern MP’s Preview Throne Speech

The Harper government unveils its parliamentary agenda Wednesday with the Speech From the Throne.
Thunder Bay-Superior North Independent MP Bruce Hyer isn’t expecting much.
Hyer hopes that for northwestern Ontario, job creation, the economy and providing stimulus for our major industries are addressed in the speech.
Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP John Rafferty is hoping that some needs of northern Ontario are singled out.
Rafferty says he wants to speech to include a promise to restore $23-million taken from FedNor so more industry can be developed here.
The NDP member says what we’ll likely see is the government backtracking on some old promises they haven’t met and creating new ones.
