Kenora MP Roger Valley says he’s disappointed the Conservative
Government has decided not to support a private members bill guaranteeing a
certain number of MP’s from Northern Ontario.
Bill C-290 was modelled after a similar piece of Legislation adopted
by the Provincial Government last year.
Valley says the bill would have ensured the North would have a
minimum of 10-members in Parliament, regardless of how much the population
in the Region has decreased.
He notes even FedNor Minister Tony Clement voted against the bill.
