Northern Ontario Power Plan

A new hydro corridor could bring electricity to as many as 30 remote communities in Northwestern Ontario.
Hydro One’s proposed 230-thousand-volt transmission line is to travel east of Lake Nipigon and then veer toward Pickle Lake.
It could be in service as early as 2013 and help remote communities end their dependence on unreliable diesel generators.
