The Province has made a commitment to establish a transmission line in northern Ontario.
The pledge was made Monday during the unveiling of the Liberal long-term energy plan.
The strategy calls for the connection of remote First Nations communities currently serviced by diesel generation.
The First Nations owned Wataynikaneyap Power group says it looks forward to working with the government to connect aboriginal communities to the power grid.
The group is a partnership between 18 First Nations communities in northwestern Ontario and Goldcorp.
