Tissue and organ donations in northwestern Ontario haven’t changed much.
New numbers released by the Trillium Gift of Life Network show that most communities in the region are above the provincial average, but haven’t gone up much in recent years.
Dryden sits at 42%, where as the provincial average is only 24%.
Network President Ronnie Gavsie says one organ donation can save the lives of 8 people, while one tissue donor can enhance the lives 75 people.
Gavsie says the only way to guarantee that your wishes are known is to register at www.beadonor.ca
