The Dryden office of the Northwest Business Center has announced it’s closing its doors.
Manager Diane Schwartz-Williams says effective today, they have shut it down due to financial issues.
Schwartz-Williams says distance outreach is very important to them and they will continue all programs and services through their Kenora office.
She adds that is how it was done before and it was done effectively.
Down the road, there is a chance the office could reopen but it all depends on funding.
Meanwhile Schwartz-Williams says they continue to look at taking a more “virtual” approach by offering their services through video conferencing and Skype.
Schwartz-Williams was not able to comment on how much the city will save with the shutdown of the center, or how much it previously cost to keep it running.
