Fireworks Fund Receives Donation From Wabigoon

Members of the Wabigoon Volunteer Fire Department have stepped up to the plate with a sizeable donation to the Dryden Fireworks Fund. Members of the Wabigoon Volunteer Department stopped by CKDR’s offices today with a cash donation of $500 toward saving Dryden’s Canada Day Fireworks. Earlier this week, Dryden City Council comfirmed it will be unable to fund the annual fireworks display, citing the rough economic situation the town finds itself in. The “Dryden Fireworks Fund” established by CKDR is still well short of the 10 thousand dollars needed to order the fireworks by the end of May, but with donations continuing to flow in, we’re confident the goal will be met. Donations of any amount can be made at CKDR, Lotto One or directly at the TD Bank in Dryden.
