The Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame has unveiled its Class of 2018.
It includes Kenora’s Dennis Olson and Scott Fawcett of Fort Frances.
Olson was a stand-out player in the American Hockey League where he became the eighth highest point getter with the Springfield Indians with 307-points in 432-games.
He also was a three time Calder Cup AHL champion.
Olson went on to play one season with the Detroit Red Wings.
Fawcett will enter the Hall in the Builders category.
The long-time coach enjoyed a 30-year career in which he was a part of ten championship squads.
Fawcett was the Special Teams and Defensive Coordinator for the 1999 Hamilton Tiger-Cats Grey Cup winning team.
He also was part of the 1985 Vanier Cup University of Calgary winning team.
The four other inductees are from Thunder Bay and they include Lynda Devine, Janet Sillman, Dave Gatherum and builder Dick Hill.
The Hall of Fame ceremony is September 29th.
