Sioux Lookout Selects Northerner As New CAO

The Municipality of Sioux Lookout has found its new Chief Administrative Officer.

Michelle Larose has been selected to lead the community.

Larose is currently the CAO, Clerk and Treasurer for the Town of Cobalt and brings with her 17-years of municipal experience, including nine as CAO.

She has an education in economics and finance and has additional training in municipal accounting, law and human resources.

Officials says her work record displays continual growth with positions in Perth East, Smooth Rock Falls, Iroquois Falls, Deep River, Cochrane and Cobalt.

Larose says she’s excited to be joining the municipal team in Sioux Lookout and looks forward to working with and cultivating new relationships with Council, staff and citizens, to build on the successes of the community.

She replaces Ann Mitchell who moved to Lethbridge, Alberta, following six years as CAO in Sioux Lookout.

Airport Manager Ben Hancharuk has served as the Acting CAO for several months.

Larose starts her new job on August, 27th.
