Northwest Reserves going to Afghanistan (Fort note

A total of 160 reservists from Northwestern Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan will be heading to Afghanistan
next year for a six month tour of duty.

Seven reserve soldiers from the 116th Independant Field Battery in Kenora will begin training in April.

Master Bombadier Colin Leblanc is one of the soldiers going over and he says he’s looking forward to the mission.

Leblanc, who is originally from Fort Frances, says he
will spend 10 months training at CFB Shilo, Manitoba before heading over to Afghanistan in February 2008.
