Reservists going to Afghanistan (Fort note)

Seven reservists from the 116th Independant Field Battery in Kenora will be heading to Afghanistan next February.

A total of 160 reserve soldiers from northwestern Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan will be taking part in a six month tour of duty.

Master Bombadier Colin LeBlanc is based out of the Kenora Armories and says he will begin ten months of pre-deployment training in April.

LeBlanc is originally from Fort Frances, and says he’s looking forward to his tour of duty, even though it is considered a dangerous assignment.
