Although there were solid gains in full-time employment in Northwestern Ontario in May, the jobless rate still edged up to 7.6 percent.
The rate stood at 7.2 percent in April.
Human Rescources Development Canada says recent job gains were offset by more than two thousand people entering the workforce in the region in May.
However, HRDC notes the job situation is still better this year than it was at this time last year in the Northwest.
