Northwestern Health Unit To Receive Help For West

The Northwestern Health Unit will share nine million dollars in provincial funding with health units across Ontario to combat the West Nile Virus.
The mosquito-carried virus has turned up in several dead birds in Southern Manitoba and Southern Ontario this summer.
So far, it has not been found in this region.
The new funding is being earmarked to support West Nile surveillance and prevention.
The Northwestern Health Unit is expected to find out later this week how much money it will have to work with.
