NOSM Welcoming Research Chair For North

The Northern Ontario School of Medicine is teaming up with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and TD Bank.
Dean Roger Strasser says the bank is providing $100,000 over 3-years to help second year students conduct research.
Meanwhile, the school is also welcoming its first research chair, Dr. Sheldon Tobe.
Tobe will head up Aboriginal and Rural Health research.
Strasser says Tobe is tasked with working with First Nations and rural communities to improve health in those communities, specifically cardiovasculator disease and kidney disease.
Strasser adds that Tobe will also work with faculty and medical students on research initiatives.
