Nurse Practioner Update

The head of the Northwestern Health Unit says they were reluctant to pass up the opportunity to hire nurse practioners to work in the Kenora District.
The province offered funding for 6 nurse practioners in this area but Dr. Pete Sarsfield says the government funding package barely covers half the costs involved.
The Dryden Health Centre is applying for 1, Lake of the Woods in Kenora is vying for 2, while the Machin Clinic is expected to lobby for 1 practioner as well.
