Nuttall Puts The Pressure On MPAC

Dryden Mayor Craig Nuttall believes they got a lot accomplished at the Ontario Good Roads Conference in Toronto.
Nuttall says they made some progress in the MPAC assessment of the Domtar Mill, now it’s a game of wait and see.
The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation has told Nuttall that they want a week to figure things out and see where they are going.
Nuttall says after they have met with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Ministry of Finance, he will be following up to see what the next move is.
Another topic that Nuttall brought up at the conference was the much needed improvements and upgrades to the city’s underpass.
Nuttall met with the Minister of Transportation and says that the city could be eligible for funding if they are approved.
This would mean the city would fork out 10-percent which equals to around 80-thousand dollars and the government would provide some 800-thousand dollars.
In his discussions with the Minister, Nuttall stressed the city has to constantly make repairs to the underpass, and it’s going to cost them a fortune in the long run.
