Northwestern Ontario Hospitals will receive a 2.4
percent increase in their base funds, thanks to a
Provincial Government cash infusion.
The Ministry of Health boost the Northwest Local Health
Integration Networks funding for 2008-2009 by 17.3 million
dollars.
Acting Chair for the NW LHIN, Janice Beasley says they
continue to talk with the Lake of the Woods District
Hospital about its deficit situation.

Dryden, Kenora, and Thunder Bay hospitals will share
just under 8 million dollars for offering cancer, cardiac,
cataract, MRI and hip and knee replacement services.
404-thousand dollars will be shared between several
small hospitals in the region for core services such as
emergency departments.
