The Nuclear Waste Management Organization says it takes the feedback of First Nations communities seriously.
Ignace is one of the final five communities still in the mix for a nuclear waster storage facility.
Pat Dolcetti is a spokesperon for the agency and say they’ve created an Indigenous Knowledge Policy as part of their engagement process.
He notes that the more knowledge they have from all parties involved, the better decisions they can make for the project.
Dolcetti says they actually have an Indigenous Engagement Team responsible for liasing with aboriginal communities
and organizations.
