Imagine diving out of a helicopter in into a shark cage, with the water around you swimming with the apex predators.
Molly Carlson, a Fort Frances born competitive diver, doesn’t have to imagine the experience.
Fort Frances-born high diver Molly Carlson recently conquered her own fears and anxieties, by diving 50 feet from a helicopter into a specially designed cage in the waters off the Bahamas, her leap of faith taken knowing a miss would land her in shark-infested waters.
Molly’s latest stunt was organized by Red Bull for the latest edition of “Shark Week” on the Discovery Channel.
The first-of-its kind dive, was filmed for the show “Ultimate Shark Dive” which first aired on July 30th.

The cage was eight by eight-metres and it was specifically designed for the stunt and it was much larger than what was originally planned.
Getting out of the water and onto the jet ski brought in to take her back to safety, didn’t go as smoothly as planned, Molly ended up slipped back into the shark infested water without the protection of the cage, thankfully she made it back to dry land where she celebrated the success of her stunt.
See what Molly has to say about the dive…
