OAHS Purchases Learning Centre for Housing Units

New affordable rental housing units for aboriginals are being built in Dryden.
The Ontario Aboriginal Housing Service has purchased the old Weyerhaeuser Learning Centre and will use the building to create 18-units for off-reserve elders, families and individuals.
An additional 12-new units will be constructed behind the Centre.
The Learning Centre will be refurbished immediately in the new year, with occupancy slated for the end of May.
The new building should be built and ready for residents in late June, early July.
Executive Director Don McBain says they will maintain the Conference facility for public meetings and for the use of not-for-profit groups.
