With grief stricken hearts, we announce that Arnold Chagnon passed away on Thursday September 22, 2022, at the Brandon Hospital, with his family by his side.

Arnie was born in Kenora, ON on October 29, 1956. He was a gentle spirit with a generous BIG heart full of love, caring and kindness. He had a quick wit that made everyone either giggle or groan…mostly because he thought he was hilarious.

Arnie had a presence; people remembered him through his touching words of encouragement and how he naturally made them feel good about themselves.

Arnie is survived by his beloved wife, best friend and soulmate Sherri; his two sons Jamie (Leah) and Walker.

He is also survived by his sister Lorraine Hosea of Brandon, his brothers Ed (Pam)and Ron (Val) of Kenora; father-in-law Joe Mesics of Dryden and sister-in-law Andra Boyko (Bob) of Dryden along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Arnie was predeceased by his parents Armand and Roma Chagnon, mother-in-law Beryl Mesics and brother-in-law Doug Hosea.

A private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers; donations may be made in Arnie’s memory to a charity of your choice.
