Robert (Bob) George Christink
September 12, 1939 – February 1, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) George Christink on February 1, 2025, at the age of 85 in Thunder Bay, Ontario at the Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Lovingly remembered by his wife, Beverley (nee Gordon), daughters Elizabeth Leis, Christine Wood, Bobbie Christink, and grandchildren Joshua & Jaden Leis, and Gracie Wood. Bob also leaves his brother Daniel Christink (wife Jo-Anne), and Daniel’s children Verna (George), Dan Jr. (Judy), Susan, Dawn (Paul), Karen, Robert (Caitlin), Eddie (Andreas), Lacey (Jason).
Bob was born in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, to Ervin (Buster) and Lucy Christink. He was a hardworking man with a deep love for the outdoors, fishing, and adventure. His career took him across Canada and the U.S. as a long-haul trucker, and he later returned home to work with the Ministry of Natural Resources in Sioux Lookout.
In 1967, Bob married Beverley, and together they raised their daughters Elizabeth Ann, Christine Adela, and Bobbie-Lynn. He was a proud Papa to Joshua and Jaden Leis, Gracie Wood, and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bob found joy in camping, photography, and fixing anything that needed repair. He never threw anything away—because “you might need it later.” He cherished time spent fishing, traveling, and sharing stories with family and friends. His dog, Trapper, was his constant companion.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Erwin (Buster) and Lucy Christink, stepmother Victoria (McCauley) Christink, and many cherished aunts and uncles. Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
