Agnes Emilie Felske
October 9, 1930 – May 8, 2023
We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Agnes Emile Felske who passed away on May 8, 2023 at the Dryden Regional Heath Centre with family by her side.
Agnes was born on October 9, 1930 on the Appel Farmstead in Vermilion Bay, Ontario and would become one of nine children to Henry and Paulina Appel. Agnes absolutely loved the outdoors. You would often find her blueberry picking, fishing or just embracing the fresh air.
Having a strong faith was very important to Agnes, as she was a lifetime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Dryden, Ontario. Being a woman of faith has brought a great deal peace and comfort to Agnes. When she met her soulmate, Donald Felske, they knew they would spend the rest of their lives with each other. The two of them had a bond like no other, and proudly showed the meaning of true love. Donald and Agnes got married on June 19, 1948, and spent the next 71 years together until his passing on February 9, 2020.
Above anything, family was the biggest piece of Agnes’ heart. It brings us peace knowing she is now reunited with her love, Donald and the two of them are shinning their guidance down on us. She will be deeply missed by her children Donna (Bill) Nicol and Richard (Lisa) Felske, daughter-in-law Debbie Felske, grandchildren Jenn (John) Hodgkinson, Lisa (Josh) Fleet, Becky (Derek), Smith, Kris (Brook) Felske, Kaileigh Felske and Dan (Sheila) Felske as well as ten great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Donald Felske, parents Harry and Paulina Appel, two brothers and six sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church with an elder of the church officiating with burial to follow at the Waldhof Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Dryden Regional Health Centre, Patricia Gardens and Princess Court for all the support and comfort that has been expressed to the family during these difficult times.
If friends and family so desire, memorial contributions may be made directly to Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 175 Cecil Ave, Dryden, ON, P8N 2X6, Canadian Cancer Society, PO BOX 4613, Stn E, Ottawa, ON, K1S 1P7 or a Charity of Choice.
