BARRY MELANDER – GONE FISHING!

June 12, 1962 – August 18, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Barry Leonard Melander on August 18th, 2026, at the age of 64.

Barry was the beloved father of Micheal (Sam Hill) Melander and was a cherished bonus dad to Abbie Gardner and adored Papa to Lilly and Lincoln.

The youngest son of the late Leonard and Yvonne (Bunny) Melander, Barry was a much-loved brother to Shaun (Melanie Diamond) Melander, Jerry (Cheryl) Melander, and Kathy (Blair) McKeil. He was a beloved uncle to Richard (Natasha Mackow) Padulo,  Shaun (Carlye Bellavia) Padulo, Joshua (Misha Capecci) Melander, Wyatt McKeil, Jarrett  (Sarah Wood) McKeil and the late Charles Alexander Padulo. He was a loving great uncle to Siena Padulo, Alex and Audrey Padulo, April and Arlo McKeil, and Lina Melander.

Barry will be lovingly remembered by extended family members, many friends, colleagues, and fellow members of the Wabigoon Dinorwic Fire Department (WDFD). He is now at peace and no doubt on a freshwater lake fishing with his mom and dad.

Good fishing Barry – we love you and we will miss you forever!

A Celebration of Life will be schedule in Dryden Ontario for Spring 2027.
