Dale Alexander Morton
July 7, 1949 – May 30, 2024
It is with deepest sorrow, the family of Dale Morton announce his passing into his heavenly home. On May 30, 2024, Dale passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
Dale was born in Belleville, ON to Lewis and Marion Morton, the youngest of one brother and three sisters – the youngest sister being his twin. Having been raised on a farm, Dale developed a good work ethic. It was at a dance in Tweed where he met his wife, the beautiful Elaine Prevost. They were married in 1971 and were blessed with two children (Derek and Cheryl). They shared 53 wonderful years together.
After graduating from college, Dale started work with the Department of Land & Forest, soon to be re-named the Ministry of Natural Resources. His first job was in Dacre in the fire branch. In 1971, Dale and Elaine transferred to Fort Frances, ON, staying there for two years. The next and last transfer was to Dryden, ON, where he worked in the Fire Branch, Parks, and then as the Parks and Operations Co-Ordinator. After retirement, he took a year off and then worked at KC’s Tourist Camp for Wayne and Karla Clarke, which he always said was one of the best jobs he ever had.
Dale is survived by his wife Elaine, son Derek (Tamara), and daughter Cheryl (Don), grandchildren Joshua (Hope), Kolby, Ava, and Niko, great grandchild Riley, brother Richard (Gail), sisters Karen, June and Donna, mother-in-law Jeanette Prevost, brother-in-law Stephen (Debbie), sisters-in-law Dianne (Peter), Gail (Willy), Sheila (Dennis), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dale was pre-deceased by his parents, brothers-in-law Ted (Karen), Phil (June), and Jim (Donna), as well as his father-in-law Wallace Prevost.
A message from Elaine: “I fell in love with you in one moment. I married you because I needed a lifetime to tell you why.”
A Private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
