DUNCAN KENNEDY
June 5, 1942 – June 15, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Duncan Aloysius Kennedy of Ignace, Ontario (formerly of Malartic, Quebec) on June 15, 2025 at the age of 83 in Thunder Bay, Ontario after a brief illness.

Predeceased by his parents Ewen J. Kennedy and Elizabeth C. McPherson, his sisters Patricia and Betty, his brothers Ian and Murray, brother-in-law Sheldon Wood and sister-in-law Denise Bourque.

He will be forever missed by his brothers and sisters: Donald (Jean), Rita (Bill), Archie (Sandra), Ron (Danielle), Wayne, Floann (Tom), and Joan. Cherished brother-in-law to Don Lawrie and Tono Lalonde.

Lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, godchildren, friends and relatives. Some of the fondest memories for his nieces and nephews would be the times they spent with him on his many visits watching sports or playing cards and cracking jokes…..getting to use one of his new video cameras or his latest technology gadgets!

Special thanks to his friends Murray McMahon and Kelly Cross, his brother Ron, wife Danielle and family, and his dear niece Elizabeth Guylaine, who were always there for him.

The family is extremely grateful for the love, support and passionate care he received from the ICU Unit of the Thunder Bay Hospital.

Cremation has taken place and the family will hold a private graveside memorial in Malartic, Quebec on July 19th, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, donations, if desired, may be made to a charity of your choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Everest – Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street, Thunder Bay.
