Gay Abela
February 18, 1940 – June 17, 2021

Gay, a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on June 17, 2021 at the age of 81. She will be remembered, cherished and forever loved by her husband, Joe, her children, Michael, Janice and Pauline, her siblings, Leathia, Randy, Robert and Dalton and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were all so blessed to have so many beautiful memories of her.

She passed away surrounded by her loved ones, who held hands around her as she left us. While our hearts are broken, we take comfort knowing that for every soul here who loves her and will miss her, there is another one on the other side ready to embrace her. She joins her parents, a grandchild taken far too early, and so many dear friends that brought so much joy to her life. There are no shortage of people, living or otherwise, who love her dearly.

A Public Visitation will take place on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 10 a.m. until time of service at the Dryden Community Funeral Home.

A Private Funeral Service will take place on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the
Dryden Community Funeral Home with Pastor Velma Henderson officiating.

Interment to follow in the Dryden Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be no gathering after the service.

Donations can be made to the Hoshizaki House or the Dryden Native Friendship Centre in her honour through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Avenue, Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
