In Loving Memory of Kathleen “Kathy” Jalkanen who passed away suddenly in her home, December 3rd, 2025.

Kathleen was born in Hamilton, Ontario on August 8th, 1941. She was the youngest of three children and raised on the family farm in Puslinch, ON. Kathleen relocated to Dryden with her husband, David Benham, and their two children in 1966, where they raised their family.

Kathleen worked at the Great Lakes Paper Products in Dryden until retiring in 1996.

Kathleen later married Peter Jalkanen in 1988 where they enjoyed their country home on Pronger Road until Peter’s passing in 2011.

She is survived by her son, Dean (Darlene) Benham, grandsons; David (Melitza), Caine (Janelle), Calder (Kiara), Jedidiah (Emma) and great-grandsons, Oliver and Walton. Daughter Melanie Benham, grandchildren; Riley (Tiana), Alexis (Chad), Brayden (Fran); great-granddaughters Jayne, Willow and Violet; Son-in-law Michael Cassidy, step-daughter Beverly McKivor (Vic & Melody) As well, dear friend Matt Olson.

A Funeral Service will be held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Dryden ON, at 11:00 A.M, December 13th, 2025 with Pastor David Haberstock officiating. Interment at a later date.

There will be a Luncheon to follow in Fellowship Hall.
