Wendy “Squeg” Gail Zoccole

March 27, 1960 – April 6, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy “Squeg” Gail Zoccole, passed on April 6, 2026, at the Dryden Regional Health Centre with her loving family by her side.

She cherished her summers at Blueberry Camp and Rice Camp, where she created lasting memories with her children. Throughout her life, she worked many different jobs, always doing what she could to support her family.

She found great joy in her grandchildren, who meant the world to her, and she was always there whenever they needed her. Wendy loved simple pleasures—playing bingo, cards, dice, and darts, and spending time listening to her favorite country music.

Wendy’s life journey was not always easy, but she faced it with strength and determination. She was a strong woman who persevered until the very end, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, love, and devotion to her family.

She is survived by Tim Smith (her loving partner), Crystal Verbonac, Sean Gessie, and Willow Gessie-Verbonac, John Meawasige, Matthew, Jayon, Charlie, as well as Connie Zoccole and Dale Champagne, Tornato Berens, Titanite Berens-Smith, Rodrick Berens, Nakitah Berens, as well as many numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Eva Zoccole, brother George and Joseph Zoccole Jr., Kim Meawasige, Micheal Verbonac, and husband Donald Verbonac.

A Viewing will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Wabigoon Metis Centre. A Service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 11 a.m. with cremation and a Celebration of Life held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that you spend time with your loved ones…
