Occasional teachers with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board have voted 87 percent in favour of strike action to back their contract demands.
The substitute teachers have been without a contract for over a year-and-a-half and held the strike vote last Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the teachers, Bob Calder says the next round of talks won’t take place until April 18th, when they will sit down with a conciliator.
He suggests his members could take some sort of job action if they can’t reach a new deal.
