This is a dangerous time of the year for motorists across northwestern Ontario.
Vehicle-animal collisions spike due to mating season and more animals on the move.
The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters is asking motorists to be extra attentive, especially between dawn and dusk.
Spokesperson Shannon Gutowskie says at this time of year a wildlife-vehicle collision occurs every 38 minutes.
Gutowskie says it’s very important to stay alert while driving, staying within the speed limit, and to be prepared for the unexpected.
