The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters says there has been a large increase in the number of bears in the province since the cancellation of the spring bear hunt.
Terry Quinney is a biologist with the OFAH and says the
fall bear hunt simply hasn’t made up for the loss of the spring bear hunt.

Quinney suggests that about 15 hundred fewer bears are killed each year because of the loss of the spring bear hunt and that’s resulted in more nuicence bear complaints.
